Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, Dr Kent now resides in Arlington, Texas. A former gangster and drug addict, he lived out his teenage years on the streets of Chicago in the volatile 1960’s, looking for trouble.

Dr Kent is a Vietnam Veteran, having served his country in South Vietnam as part of the US Marine Corps, and was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries acquired during acts of bravery. An avid scholar, Dr Kent has a Doctorate in Pastoral Studies and a Master’s Degree in Christian Education, Social Work, and Anthropology.
